  • Additional Considerations

To achieve the best outcomes and prevent complications, it is essential to understand that a minimum of TWO WEEKS of preparation is required for Permanent Makeup services. Adhering strictly to the aftercare guidelines for successful outcomes is essential. These guidelines include avoiding sun exposure for two to three weeks, refraining from sweating or intense workouts for one week, and following the provided post-care instructions to prevent moisture contact.

Although the following conditions do not exclude you from receiving a cosmetic tattoo, they may affect the permanence of the procedure and its possible complications.

Chemical Exfoliants/Medical-Grade Skincare: Avoid using Retin-A, Retinol (vitamin A), Glycolic Acid, Alpha Hydroxyl, and Tretinoin on the treated area before or after your appointment. If you currently use any of these skincare exfoliants, kindly wait at least three weeks before scheduling your appointment.

Even if the brows are fully healed, chemical exfoliants must not be used on the treated area(s). They will alter the colour and cause premature exfoliation of the pigment.

Existing Permanent Makeup: If you've had an eyebrow tattoo, microblading, or Powder Brows by another artist, please send clear photos of your brows to contact@browsbylarissa.com for pre-approval before booking).

Frequent Sun Exposure/Tanning or Sun Damaged Skin: (UVB and UVA rays will alter the colour of your brows and cause premature fading — will likely turn brown pigment blue). If you spend much time in the sun (and do not wear sunscreen), please reconsider cosmetic tattooing.

Exercise and Sweating: You must avoid exercise and sweating for at least ten days (post-procedure). Sweat contains sodium. Sodium/salt will remove the pigment. Even a "light workout" can compromise your results. Your Permanent Makeup will end up blurry, discoloured, or even nonexistent. If you cannot take ten days off from the gym to heal, please reconsider cosmetic tattooing.
